Ted's
Free Wave Collections
|
In the 1990s, I created
several collections of original .wav files that I shared with users through
America Online, BBS's (remember those?), and Internet sites like ZDNet.
Occasionally I get requests for these, so they're now available for downloading
from this site. All are packaged in .zip files.
Note: These sounds are
freely distributed for personal, non-commercial use. Companies or software
authors who wish to license these sounds for commercial use should
contact me for more information.

Ted's Button Waves - Female (1389 KB)
Collection of over 50
female-voiced Windows .wav files, all names of standard Windows buttons. You'll
need a third-party sound hooking utility (like Wired For Sound Pro) to attach
these sounds to the buttons so that when the button is pushed, the sound is
played. Many of these sounds could be hooked to Windows dialog boxes as well.
Each was originally recorded in a professional broadcast studio and then sampled
in 16-bit mono at 22k. Levels were normalized to give consistent playback
volume, and each sound was expertly edited. All recorded in 1996.

Ted's Event Waves (1521 KB)
Over 25 "event sound" .wavs
are contained in this archive. Each .wav was voiced by a professional male
announcer and enhanced by original music and sound effects. Many can be
associated with standard Windows events through the "Sounds" section of Control
Panel (especially with Windows 95 and higher) or through a third-party sound
event utility like Wired For Sound Pro. All .wavs are original creations, having
been voiced in a recording studio. Each is sampled in 16-bit mono at 22k. Levels
were normalized to give consistent playback volume, and each sound was
professionally edited, plus special EQ effects were added to some of the sounds.
All recorded in 1996.
